An Event is a signal associated with an occurance in the world at a point in time. Actions give rise to events. Events are also associated with changes in world state, and hence with the beginnings and ends of Situations.

Linkage with UML
Event is identified with the UML concept of the same name.
Comments
- See discussion on the distinction between abstract entities and instances in Situation. The same issue arises with Event (and also Action) except that Event and Action instances have only a single time point.
