EURESCOM adopts new business approach to collaborative R&D
On 1 July EURESCOM GmbH will expand its unique model of collaborative R&D beyond the domain of European telecom operators. The shareholders of EURESCOM unanimously approved a new business model and revised company statutes at their General Assembly in Heidelberg on 15 May.

Is SIP the solution? EURESCOM workshop in Heidelberg
The EURESCOM workshop "OSA and Parlay - Facilitating the Open Services Market" took place at the EURESCOM premises in
Heidelberg from 19-20 February 2002. It attracted 127 attendees, who represented network operators, manufacturers, regulator, universities from Europe, America and Asia. At an exhibition area several leading vendors were showing their latest developments and products.
The objective of the workshop was to identify and discuss opportunities and technical solutions that will lead to a wide deployment of OSA and Parlay in the Open Services Market.

TUTORIAL

OSA & Parlay - enabling an open services market
The provision of value-added telephony services is by now mainly in the hands of network operators. This might change soon: OSA and Parlay specify an open, secure interface to the telephony network, which can open the telephony network to 3rd party service providers. This tutorial gives an overview on the OSA/Parlay interface (API) and describes some possible application areas.

and network management' postponed

The workshop on 'e-commerce-based service and network management', scheduled for 2-3 July, has been postponed. The new workshop date, probably in September, will be announced in July.
